Mission Statement


The mission of the Wisconsin Student Assistance Association is to provide statewide leadership and to promote and advocate for effective school-based Student Assistance Programs that intervene to reduce:

  • Alcohol, tobacco and other drug use by youth, and
  • Related problems placing youth at risk


 

Goals:

  1. To disseminate student assistance program and school-based information.
  2. To identify and to take a position on issues critical to Student Assistance Programs (SAP’s).
  3. To provided a public voice for Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drug Intervention and Student Assistance Professionals.
  4. To increase the effectiveness of student assistance programming by promoting and sharing quality evaluation.
  5. To collaborate with other community, state, and national organizations with similar goals.
  6. To increase visibility of SAP’s in Wisconsin.
  7. To promote, expand, and support Wisconsin Student Assistance Association’s leadership.

  • Consultation with experienced Student Assistance Program (SAP) professionals
  • Supportive connections with DPI, Wisconsin Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Education Network (WATODEN), and National SAP professionals
